Our Policies
How often do you service my property? Most of our customers prefer service once a week. We have other service schedules which are twice-weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and one-time-only-blanket cleaning.
Having a party, picnic,or outdoor gathering? Just let us know and we'll schedule your cleaning around that date or set up an extra visit.
If you would like to know more about our additional service options, please call us.
Is there a contract? How do I Cancel/Suspend Service? No, there isn’t a contract, however, for insurance purposes we need a signed service agreement giving us permission to be on your property. If you need to suspend or cancel service, simply click 'Contact Us' or mail written notification, just give us two weeks notice and we’ll gladly accommodate you.
What is a Blanket Cleaning? Is there an extra charge for the first time? For our initial Blanket Cleaning. We send a crew of two-three waste technicians. We'll clean your yard from top to bottom, then deodorize and disinfect the areas and remove the waste from the premises. Blanket Cleaning generally range between $35-100 with your prior approval.
Do we work through the winter? What happens when it snows or there is extreme weather conditions? Yes. Dogs keep making their messes all year long, and our company continues to clean up and remove dog waste through the winter. We’ll work in most weather, but heavy rain, snow, or a declared State of Emergency can stop us. If there is more than an inch of snow or rain, we will postpone that day’s service until the next business day. If there is a extreme weather condition, reasons beyond our control, or payment issues that will prevent us from completing that week’s work, we will follow up the following week to clean your yard. The previous week however, will not be credited, (unless you complete that weeks cleaning yourself) due to our work load being doubled when we return. Please call the office to advise if you intend to clean your yard. If snow stays on the ground for more than a week, but there is no new snow to cover it, we will do regular cleanups to prevent excessive accumulation.
What type of equipment do you use? What do you do with the waste? For our residential clients, we have a scooper made to hold large quantities of waste. If the yard is large or if there’s an excessive accumulation of waste, we have a portable vacuum designed to pick-up animal waste. Once we pick up the feces, we double bag the waste and place it in your trash receptacle or for a small additional fee, we can remove the waste from your premises. For your protection as well as ours, we clean and disinfect our equipment and work boots after each service. This is how we ensure we don’t bring or take any parasites or pathogens with us.
What type of Deodorizer/Disinfectant do you use? Is it safe for my children/ pets? Can we buy the product? We use all natural products to disinfect and deodorize your lawn. These products are safe, non-toxic, all natural, and will not harm your pets or children. In fact, when applied weekly, we’ve received rave reviews about the refreshing scent and we’ve heard the amount of pesky bugs has been reduced in the areas we spray. These products have several uses especially in the home when your pet has an accident, or an area that smells. We do offer these products to our clients, ask your Waste Technician for information or for a MSDS sheet.
What are your Hours of Operation? What about holidays? Our office hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00am to 7pm. Our Waste Technicians begin their routes at 6:00am and will work until their daily route is complete. We do not work the following days: 1) New Years Day 4) Labor Day 7) Martin Luther King Day 2) Presidents Day 5) Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday 3) Independence Day 6) Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 8) Memorial Day When a holiday falls on a regular service day, we will likely make up service the following day and/or post the holiday schedule on your invoice or email. Service returns to the regular day the following week.
Should I unlock my gate? Yes. Since employees are not to climb or jump over fences, please have your gate unlocked on your service day. You may provide us with a key to the lock or tell us the combination if that will be convenient for you. If you like, we will loan you a lock at no cost to you. Please note, if your gate is locked or the dog will not allow us to clean the yard when we come to do the work, it may be necessary to charge for the service call that could not be completed.
Can we work with your dog in the yard? In most cases, yes. We get along well with dogs; however, there are some cases when a dog will not let our worker into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean the yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog. We don’t want to take unnecessary risks with your dog or our employees.
How do I pay you? Upon completion of your initial service call, we require that you pay for your first month service in advance. You are then billed monthly and our invoices are mailed on the 20th of each month. Our invoices are due on or before the 5th of every month. There is a $10.00 late fee for accounts not paid by the 15th of the month. We prefer you to pay by check, however, our service workers will accept cash and issue you a receipt. We also accept all major credit cards thru Pay Pal our online payment processor, just go to "Pay My Bill".
Accounts still owed by the 28th of the month shall be suspended until full payment is received. Any amounts due and owing by customer on the 30th of the month, which are not paid, shall be subject to an eighteen percent (18%) interest payment (A.P.R.) for each month it remains overdue, and the Customer will be liable for Delaware Pooper Scoopers, Inc. cost of collection including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys’ fees.
Do you only work with dogs and do you offer any other services? Our primary focus is geared towards dogs, however we remove waste for cats (litter box change/disinfect), horses, and geese. As for any other services, for a small fee, we offer a Daily Dog Walking service, exclusive to our residential clients. Our dog walk service allows your dogs to get out during your work day for exercise and relief. (Available Monday through Friday) Do you have a problem with Canadian Geese? For our commercial clients we offer an innovative Geese Deterrant System and Clean-Up service. We service Parks, Golf Courses, Condo / Apartment Complexes, and businesses. It’s our goal to make the world a cleaner and healthier environment.
What is a Fuel Surcharge? Due to continued increase of operating cost and fuel prices, it has become necessary for us to add a $2.50 per month surcharge to your bill.
This surcharge is effective immediately.
What are my responsibilities to maintain service? To better service you, please be mindful of the following:
Yards and pens must be accessible. Grass and leaves should be kept to a minimum to locate the waste.
Aggressive dogs must be left indoors on scheduled cleaning days
Payments must be made in a timely manner, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Direct all questions, problems, concerns, changes in service to the office not your Waste Technician.
What does your company mean by “SATISFACTION GUARANTEED”? We promise that you will get the service your are happy with or you don’t have to pay for it! We know our business depends on doing excellent work, and it’s the quality of our service on which we stake our success. We’re working very hard to make our name mean reliable, high-quality service. We strive to provide perfect service, but if there is ever a time when our service is not completely satisfactory, please let us know right away. We will make it right, either by coming back to re-clean the yard, or we’ll credit your account so you won’t be charged.
